Last week, the music community lost a legend: Les Paul, creator of the Gibson Les Paul guitar. Forget about T-shirts, the man had guitars he created branded after himself, that many famous musicians raved about for the duration of their careers (and the compliments are still going strong). With his passing many are turning to recognize his accomplishments. Here’s to you, Les Paul, and the impact you’ve had on the music industry.

The sequel to the overwhelmingly popular “Rock Band” video game has quite a surprise in store for music and merch lovers everywhere. The game allows players to create their own band, which they can customize down to the tiniest detail. The band’s name, logo, appearance, and members can all be adjusted to suit the tastes of creative rockers worldwide…but there’s a surprise for hardcore fans in the upcoming release:
Rock Band 2 plans to allow gamers to log on to the official site, where they will be able to order posters, T-shirts, and other band merch featuring the custom bands they’ve created in the game! This awesomely interactive feature is sure to send sales skyrocketing as fans rush to immortalize their digital creations with branded merchandise.

When will rock and roll die? Oh, about never. But this handy tombstone-shaped calendar will help you keep track of all your rockin’ days.

Since I just started this blog, I’m not sure yet where to draw the line on what is truly music merch related. In this case, this lovely Dewey Cox album cover decor was featured in the Knitting Factory, which I think gives it enough rock and roll cred to post here.
- This is a blog about band merchandise. It doesn't matter if you're a rocker, a rapper, or a pop star - if it's cool we want to know about it. If you've seen some cool music merch at a show or your local record store, snap a photo and send it to: blog@merchdoneright.com
